Hit the ground running here with a New Year's Eve party to go to upon our arrival. Was fun to meet lots of people - was even offered two different jobs! They pay more here than Up North!
Survived Wilson's attack of "jumping cactus" - the chollas! Had to get the pliers to pull them all out of him after the thorns went right through R's leather gloves - his butt, legs, chin, mouth, etc! The thorns have arrowhead-like ends on them which makes removal a bit painful! Rog and I each had our own little episodes with the awful things - mesquite and paolo verde trees in our yard plus other varieties of cacti - no Suhuaro cactus though. We can enjoy them in other neighborhoods and all over the desert!
Have to place a trouble light under the car at night - keeps the pack rats from chewing the car's wires. Thought this might be one of those urban legends, but not so! The neighbor had a story to relate - her car died each time she turned a corner - couldn't figure it out. The mechanic told her the wires had been chewed!
First Pilates class yesterday for me. Was fun! Today, Rog is at a Yogacise class - tomorrow he has a Yoga class especially for his back. We both are getting into lapidary work and silversmithing. He also joined the camera club - several classes on how to get the most out of your digital camera. So many talented people here!! Constantly amazes me.
Weather has been cool - and guess what? A bit rainy! Black skies again this morning, but the sun is breaking through now. A good day for Bark Park - thank goodness someone told us where it is! A place where the dogs can run and play with other dogs - and the bipeds get to chat - and everyone there loves dogs! We all love it!! Wilson is now able to walk through the gate on his own - took a few days for him to socialize with all the others there. He and I are taking an obedience class here, too. Gotta make some time for knitting!!
Must make some coffee and then some phone calls!
